Credential: Nurse Aide I, NC Dept of Health Service Regulation
Nurse aides provide personal care and basic nursing skills in rehabilitation, long-term care, in-home health, and hospitals. Upon satisfactory completion of the courses, students are eligible to apply for the North Carolina State Certification Examination. Successful completion of the state exam is required to be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. Students can choose to advance to Nurse Aide II. TECHNICAL STANDARDS
In compliance with the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act, the following standards have been established. All students in the programs below are expected to meet certain essential technical standards for successfully completing all program phases and reflect industry requirements and standards. To verify the student’s ability to perform these essential functions, students may be required to demonstrate the technical standards.

This course consists of theory, lab and clinical experiences, which prepares the student to provide complex nursing skills for patients or residents. Upon satisfactory completion of course, student is eligible for listing as a NAII with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Refresher course involves reviewing theory and hands-on skills practice needed to renew North Carolina Nurse Aide I license. No clinical is required. Upon satisfactory completion of course, student is eligible to apply for North Carolina State Certification Examination. Prerequisite: Verification of previous North Carolina Nurse Aide I in the past three (3) years.
